I’m still on my quest to create amazing seamless manipulations. Today I wanted to revisit the work of Dave Hill to start. Through our last video and watching Dave Hill videos, I’ve learned that lighting may be the most important part of the process. Don’t get me wrong, there are many parts to the process that are key. But here is what I’ve gathered so far…
Important Elements of Great Manipulations:
- Plan/Sketch: It is important to have every detail well planned and envisioned from the start
- Lighting: By creating the same lighting it is easier to fit everything together as one image
- Extensive knowledge of photoshop: This is where a lot of good ideas go wrong
- Time: Creating an image like this takes ALOT of time, from hours of shooting to hours of editing for one perfect image
So lets look at a great image by Dave Hill, and then we have a short video of how he shot the image…While most of us can only dream of pulling off a production this huge..it gives go insight to the work involved creating these images!
