Hi Barbara, You are absolutely correct, I did use fill flash. When I am shooting into the sun like that I expose for a nice blue sky (which is usually 1 stop under) then I adjust the flash in manual mode for a nice even fill. It takes me 2 or 3 shots to get it right. It can be difficult because usually I use my histogram to see if I got the right exposure. But shooting into the sun, it may be difficult for the histogram to tell you what you want. I usually just zoom in and check the light on the subject face. It is really easy to have too much flash, or too little flash. Have fun, Happy shooting!

I know this is supposed to be about posing, but in image 6 - how did you get the nice blue sky and still expose for his face? Was flash involved? Love the tips!! Thank you!
